WWOOF:World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms

WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms)
|
| We are members of the big family of WWOOF, offering places to one to two wwoofers at any one time throughout the year. Wwoofers give a hand in various sorts of work around the co-operative. |
| They can work with us in the vines or during the harvest, in the milk shed or in making cheese, in the kitchen and dining room, in the butcher's shop, the cellar, in woodcutting, feeding the cattle and pigs, fruit picking, jam-making and in many other little jobs that turn up from day to day. |
| You need to reach agreement with
us on how long you will stay and what sort of job you could usefully
do.
Your lodgings - in a tent, a caravan, or a flat will depend on the season and on what is going on in the co-operative. However, we will negotiate suitable accomodation for you when you get in touch with us. Languages spoken by at least some members of the co-coperative:
Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Rumanian, Russian
and Dutch. Give us a ring or write to us, asking for Allessandro or Nicole. |

| What is WWOOF?
The aim of WWOOF is to create understanding and interest in organic
and biodynamic lifestyles. In addition to this, WWOOF makes it possible
to travel cheaply around the world, giving a helping hand at the same
time where and when there is need. The most important quality a WWOOFer needs is flexibility: to be able to fit in and adapt to all the different activities carried out on the farm. The hosts expect you to have a general interest in what they are doing, and in their way of life. They expect you to work willingly on behalf of their project, to do your own cooking and housework and not to create more work for them. All hosts work very hard and many live on a tight budget with few resources, and you must accept and respect this fact. WWOOFing is not a cheap holiday. It is a voluntary organisation aiming
to spread knowledge of organic farming, and to offer support to producers,
as organic farming is very labour intensive, at the same time giving
hands-on experience to the volunteers. If you are looking for a cheap
and easy way to travel and see Italy, WWOOF is not for you. Other information can be found on www.wwoof.org |
